This piece reminds me of the particular disintegration I once encountered in a roll of photographic film. Perhaps I am also thinking of the type of film that forms over a rolling boil.
The glaze is a simple semi-translucent clear that on white clay bodies resembles craft glue. The black stoneware, however, contains minerals that off-gas during the firing, creating unexpected texture in the glaze.
